I am strongly interested in the connection to the natural universal spirit and experience. I believe one way that all of us can get in touch with this is through natural lands and wild places. I tap into this for my own experience and as well, to pass this on to others in viewing my art. Almost all of my studio works starts with “plein air” (on location) paintings, drawings and the experience I have in that place. Like many “plein air” painters, I try to capture a true sense of the land in form, color and perspective. As this gets integrated with my experience, mark making and color tend to get more abstracted. This is especially true in the studio where my mind’s eye is more focused on the experience.

Additionally, I am interested in exploring more intellectual and abstracted compositions through various mediums and techniques including the combination of multiple images to form new “surreal” images.

For the last twenty years I have shown my work locally, in the NW region and nationally through numerous venues. My work is in the collection of individuals and corporations.
